Our cherry tomatoes have started to roll in. This year we planted 2 cherries and 4 Roma tomato plants. We have had bad luck with larger varieties. Usually they start to rot before they turn red. This year we tried putting down a red plastic thing that claims to be a Tomato Yield Booster and it actually seems to work.
Instead of tomato cages we used bamboo stakes and trellis netting inspired by the Square Foot Gardener (see pic below). My husband has been a huge fan, but we have had some failures as a result of his suggestions. Zucchinis and Watermelon will not climb a trellis in our yard.

[...] Our Tomatillos seem a bit late this year, possibly due to the heavy rains at the beginning of the season. We are finally getting a few for Jay’s famous Salsa Verde. . . Yum! They are super easy to grow. They get just tall enough where they need some staking. We braced them with a similar solution to our tomatoes with trellis netting and bamboo stakes. They drop a ton of seeds and will grow like weeds the following season so I highly recommend using black landscape fabric if you would like to keep some order in your tomatillo patch.
