Maine . . . The Way Life Should Be

March 29, 2006

Maine

We spent St. Patrick's Day in Portland, Maine and ventured up to Boothbay Harbor for the remainder of the weekend. Highlights included many lighthouses, the Portland Museum of Art – free Friday Night, walking on the coast in Boothbay and Berry Pie.  We enjoyed our stay at the Welch House Inn in Boothbay Harbor and figured out that the owners were former neighbors of ours.  Small World!

Loco for Gocco

March 15, 2006

Last month I took a Gocco Screenprinting workshop and made these 2 designs:

gocco 1

Gocco 2

I promptly became obsessed with the idea of owning my own B6 Print Gocco Kit. Unfortunately, Riso Corp. decided not to continue making this product just one month before I took the workshop. This only made me covet it more. After searching around and getting lots of information on a site called Save Gocco I located one and it should be arriving soon. I’m looking forward to creating many wonderful designs.  I also established that Riso will continue making another product called the PG-5 that uses the same supplies, so I should be able to find the parts in the future. I’m still optimistic that the Save Gocco campaign will make a difference.
