Every year I have tried to grow watermelon in my garden and last year I thrilled to have a watermelon get to be the size of a golf ball by September. As soon as I started to get excited about actually growing my own watermelon in the BOSTON area a squirrel promptly came and chewed it up. This year I actually have one that is almost ready to eat. I just may have to have a watermelon Party!
