It was my turn to choose a movie so we went and saw Fever Pitch today. Somehow the movie actually works. It was cute and an accurate depiction of Red Sox nation and Boston. There were some shots of the parade at the end that were really close to where we were, but sadly we did not make an appearance in the movie.

The Craft Corner Death Match is a hilarious and addictive crafting show on the Style Network. It describes itself as Martha Stewart Living meets Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome – it’s home ec as extreme sport, and someone’s about to get the craft kicked out of ‘em. Thanks to our new TiVo-like device from RCN we have been recording it and watching it whenever there isn’t anything on.

UPDATE: The funeral Mass for the Pope John Paul Kiwi has ended and his body has reached its final resting place. A final farewell was held before a small group of people at the tomb located in a kitchen in Lexington, MA where the remains of other kiwis are currently resting. His kiwi body was placed in the trash with a small set of items dictated by history and Vatican protocol: his paper white and red vestments and his plastic arms and googly eyes.

It is Opening Day for the Red Sox already and I somehow don’t feel ready. I feel like there should be a few more months for us Red Sox to bask in the glory of the World Champion Red Sox title. As a matter of fact if baseball ended altogether we could go out on top. Seems like it was just yesterday when Jay won the tickets to Game 5 of the ALCS vs. the Yankees and we were the psycho fans praying for a miracle. Speaking of which, I want to see the movie Fever Pitch even though it looks terrible. I’m a sucker for sports movies.
